Back-Up Pads and Accessories

As a manufacturer of high performance grinding discs, Marvel realizes the importance of the disc/pad relationship. Back-up pads supports the disc and properly distribute the grinding pressure to the work piece. For best disc cutting performance and durability, it is important that the appropriate back-up pad be selected. Marvel offers a wide range of premium products, including the moderately priced Marvelite series for general purpose grinding and the Marveledge heavy-duty series for high performance applications.

Marveledge Back-Up Pads

The Marveledge back-up pad system has been refined and improved over 20 years of extensive research and development--both in laboratory testing and on-line performance evaluations. Faster cutting and cooler running, the patented Marveledge pad is ideal for high performance applications.

• The patented design and heavy-duty construction of the Marveledge pad offers top dependability and durability.
• Unique serrated design with precise land-to-groove ratio enables the disc to properly flex and free itself from loading and glazing, for extended disc life.
• Configuration of Marveledge grooves provides an aggressive cutting leading edge-reducing dwell time and frictional heat for faster cutting.
• Ventilation holes on 7" and 9" discs allow maximum air circulation--resulting in cooler grinding, less discoloration of the work piece and significant time savings.

Accessories

Disc Cutter

In large volume grinding operations, such as automotive body shops, this device can achieve significant savings. It trims the disc to a smaller diameter when the outer edge is no longer useable. Replacement blade kits are available.

Marvelube Abrasive Lubricant

An extra dry, solid grinding compound that minimizes abrasive loading, the major cause of abrasive failure, when grinding aluminum, plastics, glues, resins and paints. Discs and belts treated with Marvelube can last up to 10 times longer than untreated abrasives.

Unlike other grinding compounds, Marvelube exhibits no plastic stage prior to melting. Parts can be blown clean when dry. It extends the life of abrasives used on stainless and carbon steels. It is non-toxic with a flashpoint of about 345 deg. F. Material Safety Data Sheet is available. Supplied in 18 oz. tubes for easy application.

Spanner Wrench

A Marvel designed adjustable spanner wrench which adapts to all variations of back-up pad threaded nuts.

Pad Nuts

5/8" - 11 thread for all standard spindles, M10 x 1.25, M10 x 1.5, M14 x 2.0 and 1/2" - 13 thread for 4" and 4-1/2" small angle grinder pads.
